एक गैर नागरिक को किसी देश में रुकने, नौकरी करने, ट्रांजिट करने आदि के लिए दी जाने वाली अनुमति को वीजा कहते हैं। वीजा मिलने का अर्थ यह नहीं है कि आपको उस देश में जाने की गारंटी मिल गई है। यह अधिकार उस देश के आव्रजन अधिकारियों का अधिकार है कि वह आपको देश में आने के लिए प्रवेश दें। कुछ देशों में आगंतुकों से वापसी की टिकट और वहां रहने के दौरान खर्च किए जाने वाले धन को दिखाने के लिए भी कहा जाता है। कुछ देश आगंतुकों के प्रवेश को इस आधार पर निरस्त भी कर सकते हैं कि उन्होंने जरूरी आवश्यकताओं का अनुपालन नहीं किया। इसके साथ ही कुछ देशों के बीच संबंधों के सामान्य नहीं होने पर भी वीजा यानी देश में प्रवेश की अनुमति नहीं दी जाती है। यदि वीजा मिल भी जाता है तो उस देश के आव्रजन अधिकारियों को अधिकार होता है कि वे किसी उचित कारण से आगंतुक को प्रवेश न दें।

यूएस वीजा के प्रकार

अमेरिकी सरकार अपने देश में आने वाले गैर नागरिक को कई प्रकार के वीजा उपलब्ध कराती है। सभी प्रकार के वीजा यात्रियों की रुकने की अवधि, प्रकृति और उद्देश्य पर निर्भर करते हैं।

बी1/बी2 वीजा

यह वीजा अमेरिका आने वाले या घूमने वाले यात्रियों को दिया जाता है। इसकी अवधि ९क् दिनों तक होती है। हालांकि इसको बढ़वाने की संभावना होती है। इस वीजा को प्राप्त करने के लिए व्यक्ति को अमेरिका आने का कारण और कुछ जरूरी औपचारिकताएं पूरी करनी होती हैं। साथ ही यह भी बताना होता है कि वह वहां किसी व्यवसाय, इलाज, रिश्तेदार और घूमने आदि किस कारण से आ रहा है।
     
के1 वीजा

यह वीजा उन व्यक्तियों के लिए होता है जो किसी अमेरिकी नागरिक से शादी करने जा रहे होते हैं। यह वीजा शादी से ९क् दिन पहले अमेरिका आने की अनुमति देता है। इस वीजा के लिए एक अर्जी देनी होती है। इसमें यह जरूरी है कि अर्जी देने वाला पक्ष अमेरिकी होना चाहिए।

एच1 बी वीजा

यह वीजा अमेरिकी सरकार की ओर से वहां पर काम करने के लिए दूसरे देशों के इच्छुक पेशेवरों को दिया जाता है। यह वीजा तब ही किसी व्यक्ति को दिया जाता है जब उसे किसी अमेरिकी कंपनी से नौकरी का प्रस्ताव भेजा गया हो। यह वीजा छह साल की अवधि तक के लिए होता है। इस दौरान व्यक्ति अमेरिका में ग्रीन कार्ड के लिए आवेदन कर सकता है। इससे वह वहां स्थायी रूप से रह सकता है।

एच2 बी वीजा

यह वीजा उन कामगारों को मिलता है जो कृषि के क्षेत्र में काम नहीं कर रहे होते हैं। यह अस्थायी कामगारों को मिलता है। यह उस स्थिति में मिलता है जब किसी अस्थायी कार्य के लिए कोई अमेरिकी नागरिक नहीं मिलता। अगर कोई अमेरिकी उपलब्ध है तो यह काम उसी से कराया जाएगा। यह अधिकतम तीन साल के लिए होता है।

टीएन नाफ्टा वीजा

टीएन नाफ्टा वीजा कनाडा और मेक्सिको के लोगों को अमेरिका में रोजगार देने के लिए मिलता है। इस वीजा की अवधि एक साल होती है और इसे बाद में रिन्यू कराया जा सकता है। इस वीजा को उपलब्ध कराने का मकसद दोनों देशों के लोगों को अमेरिका में रोजगार मुहैया कराना है।

एफ1 वीजा

एफ1 वीजा अमेरिका में पढ़ाई करने के इच्छुक छात्रों को दिया जाता है। यह वीजा पढ़ाई की अवधि तक वैध रहता है। यह वीजा आमतौर पर उच्च शिक्षा प्राप्त करने वाले छात्रों के लिए अनारक्षित रहता है।

जे1 वीजा

जे1 वीजा किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति को दिया जाता है जो अमेरिका में किसी कार्यक्रम में शामिल होने के लिए जाता है। यह कार्यक्रम किसी स्कूल, व्यवसाय और अन्य संस्थाओं के हो सकते हैं।

टूरिस्ट वीजा उन लोगों को दिया जाता है, जो पर्यटन के संबंध में आना चाहते हैं। इस दौरान वीजाधारी कोई व्यावसायिक गतिविधि में भाग नहीं ले सकता। इस वीजा की अवधि छह माह होती है।

व्यावसायिक वीजा

व्यावसायिक वीजा उन्हें जारी किया जाता है, जो भारत में किसी व्यावसायिक कार्य जैसे किसी कंपनी या उत्पाद की मार्केटिंग या उसके लिए कांटेक्ट्स को बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से आना चाहते हैं। इस प्रकार का वीजा एक वर्ष के लिए जारी किया जाता है और जरूरत पड़ने पर इसे आगे भी बढ़ाया जा सकता है।

जर्नलिस्ट वीजा

जर्नलिस्ट वीजा व्यावसायिक पत्रकारों और फोटोग्राफर्स को दिया जाता है। इस वीजा पर जर्नलिस्ट तीन महीने भारत में रुक सकते हैं। इसके लिए भारतीय दूतावास में जर्नलिस्ट आवेदन करते हैं।

कॉन्फ्रेंस वीजा

इस प्रकार का वीजा अंतरराष्ट्रीय कॉन्फ्रेंस या किसी विषय पर आधारित कॉन्फ्रेंस के लिए आने वालों को भारत सरकार की ओर से समय-समय पर जारी किया जाता है। यह वीजा भारत सरकार की ओर से कॉन्फ्रेंस के लिए मंजूरी मिलने के बाद जारी होता है।

ट्रांजिट वीजा

ट्रांजिट वीजा उन लोगों को जारी किया जाता है जो अपनी यात्रा के दौरान कुछ समय के लिए भारत में रुकना चाहते हैं। इस वीजा को लेने के बाद अपने उद्देश्य को बदला नहीं जा सकता है। ट्रांजिट वीजा अधिकतम तीन दिनों के लिए जारी किया जाता है, इसके बाद देश में रहने की अनुमति नहीं दी जाती है। तीन दिनों से अधिक समय भारत में रुकने के लिए उपयुक्त वीजा लेना जरूरी है।

एंट्री वीजा

एंट्री वीजा उन लोगों को जारी किया जाता है, जो भारतीय मूल के होते हैं और पर्यटन के उद्देश्य से भारत आना चाहते हैं। जिनके परिजन भारत में नौकरी कर रहे हैं उनके परिजन भी इस वीजा को हासिल कर सकते हैं।

रोजगार वीजा

रोजगार वीजा उन लोगों को जारी किया जाता है, जो भारतीय कंपनी के कर्मचारी हैं। दूतावास से वीजा एक वर्ष के लिए जारी किया जाता है, जिसे बाद में पांच वर्ष तक के लिए बढ़ाया जा सकता है।

स्टूडेंट वीजा

स्टूडेंट वीजा उनको जारी किया जाता है जो भारत में किसी मान्यता प्राप्त संस्थान से शिक्षा ग्रहण करने के लिए आना चाहते हैं। इस वीजा की अवधि शिक्षण संस्थान की ओर से शिक्षा की तय अवधि के समय तक के लिए ही होती है।

मिशनरी वीजा

मिशनरी वीजा उन्हें दिया जाता है, जो भारत में किसी धार्मिक कार्य के उद्देश्य से आना चाहते हैं। यह सिंगल एंट्री वीजा होता है।

रिसर्च वीजा

रिसर्च वीजा शोधकार्य करने के लिए प्रोफेसर या स्कॉलर्स और शोधकार्यो के सेमिनार, कॉन्फ्रेंस या वर्कशॉप में भाग लेने के लिए आने वाले को मिलता है। इस वीजा के लिए आवेदकों को भारत छोड़ने से कम से कम छह सप्ताह पहले की तिथि में आवेदन करना होता है। इसके बाद के आवेदनों पर विचार नहीं किया जाता है।

स्पोर्ट्स वीजा

यह वीजा पेशेवर और शौकिया तौर पर खेल से संबंधित लोगों, खिलाड़ियों और निर्णायकों आदि को दिया जाता है। वास्तव में यह एक प्रकार का आमंत्रण पत्र होता है जो खेल से जुड़े लोगों को भारत में आने के लिए दिया जाता है।

पासपोर्ट भी जरूरी

दूसरे देश में जाने के लिए वीजा के साथ ही पासपोर्ट भी जरूरी होता है। भारतीय नागरिक को पासपोर्ट कंसुलर पासपोर्ट तथा वीजा (सीपीवी) प्रभाग द्वारा जारी होता है, जो विदेश मंत्रालय के अधीन आता है। पासपोर्ट अधिनियम, 1967 के तहत पासपोर्ट जारी किया जाता है और इसे भारत में 35 से अधिक स्थानों से एवं विदेश में 160 भारतीय दूतावासों से जारी किया जा सकता है। भारत में पासपोर्ट तीन प्रकार के होते हैं। पहला नियमित पासपोर्ट होता है। इसके कवर का रंग नेवी ब्ल्यू होता है और यह साधारण यात्रा के लिए जारी होता है, जैसे कि अवकाश और व्यापार संबंधी दौरे के लिए। दूसरा डिप्लोमेटिक पासपोर्ट होता है, जिसका रंग मेहरून (गाढ़ा लाल) होता है और यह भारतीय डिप्लोमेट, वरिष्ठ स्तर के सरकारी अधिकारियों और डिप्लोमेटिक कुरियर को जारी किया जाता है। तीसरा शासकीय पासपोर्ट होता है, जिसका कवर सफेद रंग का होता है और यह आधिकारिक कार्य से जाने वाले भारतीय अधिकारियों को जारी किया जाता है।

कैसे करें आवेदन

पासपोर्ट के लिए आवेदन करने के लिए पासपोर्ट कार्यालय, नामजद स्पीड पोस्ट केंद्रों या अपने शहर के किसी नामजद केंद्र से आवेदन प्रपत्र प्राप्त करना होता है। अब यह ऑनलाइन भी मिलता है। आवेदन फॉर्म के साथ आपको निवास-स्थान, जन्म-तारीख, नाम में परिवर्तन आदि का प्रमाण-पत्र और ईसीएनआर के प्रलेख, पासपोर्ट आकार के फोटो आदि देने होते हैं। प्रमाण-पत्रों की सभी स्वयं सत्यापित प्रतियां आवेदन जमा करने के समय पासपोर्ट कार्यालय में मूलरूप के साथ जांची जाएंगी। डाक द्वारा भेजे गए दस्तावेजों की प्रतियां राजपत्रित अधिकारी द्वारा सत्यापित की जाती हैं। आपातकालीन स्थिति में पासपोर्ट की जरूरत हो तो तत्काल योजना से अतिरिक्त शुल्क के भुगतान पर पासपोर्ट जारी किया जाता है। तत्काल योजना केवल उन मामलों में लागू होगी जहां पुलिस सत्यापन रिपोर्ट की आवश्यकता नहीं है (15 वर्ष से कम उम्र के बच्चे) अथवा जहां पासपोर्ट पुलिस सत्यापन के बाद जारी किया जाना हो।

Create a preventive maintenance plan for your computer

When people notice their computer's performance slowing, the most common reason is the hard disk. Your computer's hard disk is a non-removable area that holds all the information available from your computer. Over time, hard disks begin to lose their ability to store data efficiently.

The Windows operating system provides three great tools to help keep your hard drive humming smoothly. These tools are Disk Cleanup, Disk Defragmenter, and Check Disk. Find more information about using these tools to optimize your PC.

Ideally, you should run these tools on the following schedule.

About once every week, you should run the Windows Disk Cleanup utility to clear your PC of these temporary files.

Rearrange your fragmented files (monthly)

Whenever a file becomes too large to store in a single location on your hard disk, your computer breaks that file into parts (or fragments). Don't worry, though. Your computer keeps track of all these fragments, piecing them together whenever the file is accessed.

However, as fragmented files accumulate on your hard disk, your computer becomes gradually slower. This is because your computer has to go through all these fragmented files in order to piece the correct parts together again.

While there's nothing you can do to prevent the fragmentation of files, Windows does have a utility (Disk Fragmenter) to help deal with this situation. Disk Fragmenter rearranges fragmented files, resulting in increased free space on your hard disk and quicker performance from your PC.

About once every month, you should run the Windows Disk Defragmenter utility.

Check your hard disk for errors (weekly)

Whenever a program you're using crashes, your computer may create errors on your hard disk. These errors will eventually slow your computer to a crawl.

The good news is that Windows includes a Check Disk program. Check Disk corrects these types of errors from your hard disk, resulting in better PC performance.

About once every week, you should run the Check Disk utility.

Set up Check Disk to run automatically:

1.    Open the Task Scheduler:

2.    Follow the prompts in Task Scheduler to schedule a program to run at a set time.

Note Check Disk isn't available within the scroll-down list of programs that you select from in the Task Scheduler, so you'll need to select it manually. To select it, click Browse. Then, navigate to windows\system32\chkdsk.exe. Select chkdsk.exe and click Open.

These automated tasks—while they seem simple enough—are the foundation on which your computer's performance rests. Lucky for us, Windows can completely handle these tasks. You never have to worry about them. You just set up your maintenance tasks once, automate them, and let Windows take care of the rest.

To set up Google Calendar Sync:

1. Make sure you're using a supported operating system and Outlook version.
2. Download Google Calendar Sync (version 0.9.3.6) athttp://dl.google.com/googlecalendarsync/GoogleCalendarSync_Installer.exe
3. Once a dialog box appears, click Save File. The downloaded file should open automatically. If it doesn't, manually open it from your browser's download window.
4. Click OK to confirm that you're aware this is an executable file.
5. Read through the Google Calendar Sync Terms of Service, and click I Agree.
6. Follow through the Installation Options and click Install to finish the set-up process.

Once Google Calendar Sync is installed on your computer, the Google Calendar Sync Settings window will appear:

 

In the Settings window, enter your email address and password and select the Sync Option you prefer. Read about each Sync Option.

You'll also be able to set the time interval for syncing to occur. Please keep in mind that 10 minutes is the minimum time interval allowed.

After the initial set-up, you can access the Google Calendar Sync Settings window again by double-clicking the calendar icon in your Windows System Tray.

3 Tips for Securing and Remembering Your Passwords

I recently had a few friends that had their email accounts hacked. I provided them with a few tips for creating unique, easy-to-remember, and secure passwords. Afterwards, I thought it would be a good idea to share those tips with the rest of you.

Use an Easy to Remember Phrase

Most passwords are hacked using simple dictionary attacks. This is why many systems require you to use symbols, mix of capital and lowercase letters, numbers, etc. It helps to prevent your password from falling victim to a simple dictionary attack.

Another (and I think better) way to avoid using words, but maintaining the ease of remembering words, is to use the first letter of every word in a phrase. For example, jbnjbqjjotcs might make a good password. How could you possibly remember such a cryptic password? Easy:Jack Be Nimble Jack Be Quick Jack Jump Over The Candle Stick.

Create Unique Passwords

You also never want to use the same password for multiple systems. You should always try to create a (relatively) unique password for each site you log into. But doesn’t this go against making passwords easy to remember?

Well, you could try unique phrases for each website you log into, but that’s not much better than using different words for different sites and forgetting which ones you used where. Here’s a tip for creating unique passwords for different systems, but still being able to remember your passwords: Use the same phrase, but prepend or append it with the first letter or an abbreviation of the site you’re logging into.

Continuing with our nursery rhyme example, you could use jbnjbqjjotcsfb as your Facebook password, jbnjbqjjotcsgm as your Gmail password, and jbnjbqjjotcst as your Twitter password.

Use Capitals, Symbols and Numbers

You don’t have use capitals, punctuation, and numbers all at the same time, although it certainly doesn’t hurt to do so and some systems even require it. You just have to be sure that whatever combination you use, that you’ll remember it.

With our nursery rhyme password, for our Facebook account, we might try something like: Jbn,Jbq,JjotcsFb13

The end of each line in the nursery rhyme provides a logical place to put a comma. Being pronouns, Jack and Facebook are logical to capitalize. Finally, we added the 13 to the end, because that’s your lucky number. Use easy to remember symbols and punctuation in logical positions within your phrase, to make it easy to remember.
